I’m so excited about Mindful Practice’s partnership with RocketPD! When I met Corey, Chris, Jesse and the team, three years ago, I was immediately struck by how they lead with the heart in their work. When they approached me and said,

“Hey, Carla, let’s take the learnings from our course with you and turn it into a free downloadable guide for school partners. How about it?”

My answer was immediately,

“Yes!”

We all know, especially now with funding being cut across the country, that we need FREE, actionable resources that are evidence-based, informed, and culturally responsive. Voilà! That’s where the Ultimate Guide to Adult Well-Being & Staff Empowerment in K-12 Schools comes in!

We have created a LITE version of our full Adult-Well Being course with RocketPD and turned it into a free guide for our school and district partners, that makes sense. Mindful Practices and RocketPD are here to support your schools and district, whether you can afford the course now or later on down the road, we want to give you those evidence-based resources that you need to improve your job satisfaction, retain your valued staff,  and improve staff attendance and engagement. We believe strongly that this guide and this course can do that.

A 5-part framework for supporting adult well-being in K-12 schools with Carla Tantillo Philibert

Course Description:

I am thrilled and honored to be collaborating with RocketPD to offer this one-of-a-kind course Adult Well-Being Course. There are many well-being resources available these days. Whether it’s offering content on well-being for teachers and staff or climate-and-culture work, there’s a significant demand in the market for this. What sets our course apart from much of the other content? How are we different? We focus on three core well-being competencies: Awareness, Access, and Agency.

We don’t just discuss the reasons why. We don’t just focus on superficial solutions. Instead, our goal is to ensure that everyone who completes this course knows how to apply these principles in their schools and districts.

We begin with Awareness and build a climate of Social-Awareness. What do I need as a district staff member, leader, teacher, or paraprofessional? What do my colleagues need? We’re all here to support students, so understanding our colleagues’ needs first allows us to better support our students. This enables me to recognize and understand my own needs.

Next, do I have Access to those supports? Where are those supports readily available? Where do my district and school need to collaborate with community-based organizations to make these supports more accessible to all district staff?

Finally, this course emphasizes Agency. If we provide folx with excellent training and development but they’re unable to utilize it, it can negatively impact morale. We have people who are trained and prepared, yet unable to apply their knowledge. Therefore, a significant focus of this course in weeks four and five is ensuring that attendees graduate with the Agency to implement these evidence-based, impactful materials in their schools and make the changes they desire in their workplaces. This is a substantial value, and we’re very proud of our ability to help attendees understand and utilize this. This is part of the mission here at Mindful Practices and echoed in our partnership with Rocket PD.
