Q: What are you most proud of this year?
A: “We had a disturbance in one of the assemblies before. I knew something that was coming. So I actually tried to start a petition, and I emailed staff members, I emailed the office, I let them know what was going on. And I did feel like my voice was getting heard. My parents were proud of me for just sticking up for myself and the school.”
Q: What stresses you out the most?
A: “I don’t have that big of a self-confidence in myself. So sometimes like, I’ll think other people are – you know – they’re amazing! I tend to compare myself to [those] other people – so you know – that’s why I feel it’s hard for me to find those good qualities in myself…
… times where I’m able to do a couple things, manage another couple things at school, you know. My work during my class time – whenever I’m free to do my work – and then you know – for the rest of the day – my sports. What I’m able to focus on for that.”
Q: What’s going on in your world today?
A: “I try my best you know? Now I know I’m going to make mistakes throughout the year, there’s going to be things where I’m not going to be able to control what I’m not able to control. So, my goals are to, you know, whatever I’m able to do, if I can do it, then I’ll do it. Not everything’s going to be in my control, so just [focus on] what I’m able to do.”
